Why samples matter for knitwear

Knitwear is a developmental category: yarn, gauge, washing and finishing all affect how a style behaves on the body. Bulk cannot be judged from a drawing alone. A knitwear sample usually moves through these stages:

• Development sample — confirms construction and hand-feel before committing to trims and finishing.
